We are running a trip this Friday October 5th to the first day of three of the 6th Ascot Racecourse Camra Beer Festival.
The first race is scheduled for 2.00pm and the last race at around 5.15pm although the exact race times are still to be confirmed. The coach will depart from The Jolly Sailor on Stonecross in St Albans at 11.15am prompt and return at approx 7.00pm in the evening.
The approximate itinerary will be as follows ;
11.00 - 11.15 - Meet at The Jolly Sailor Pub for pre trip drink
11.15 (latest)- Coach departs St Albans
13.00 - Approx arrival time at Ascot Racecourse (depending on traffic)
14.20 - First of Six Race
17.15 - Time of Last Race
17.45 - Coach Departs Ascot Racecourse
18.45 - 19.00 - Approx arrival time back at The Jolly Sailor in St Albans(depending on traffic)
A Premier Admission badge gives you access to all the best viewing areas and facilities on the course. These are located on Level 4 of the Grandstand and are exclusive to Premier Admission badge holders.
A Premier Admission badge also allows access to the Grandstand Admission area and to the steppings around the Parade Ring. Whilst racegoers are encouraged to wear smart clothes no formal dress code applies except that bare chests are not permitted at any time. If you only wish to stay in the Grandstand Area, and not go up to the Premier Enclosure, then you do not need to wear a jacket and tie.
PREMIER ADMISSION DRESS CODE
A day at Ascot Racecourse is very special. Most racegoers dress up for the occasion and this is an important part of the Ascot Raceday experience. In Premier Admission, Gentlemen should wear a jacket and tie, smart trousers or smart jeans, no trainers. There will be an announcement on the day allowing jackets to be removed, should the weather be hot. Ladies should dress for a smart occasion; hats are encouraged but not compulsory. Children should be dressed smartly.
ABOUT THE DAY
On the opening day of the 6th Ascot CAMRA Beer Festival on Friday October 5th in association with Fuller’s, you can expect much more than just exciting Flat racing. You’ll be able to sup on an array of over 200 real ales, cider and perries at this extensive regional Beer Festival.
A Half Pint Beer Festival voucher costs £1.50 and can be redeemed against a sample of any showcased real ale, cider or perry. Vouchers can be purchased on the day from the Beer Festival.
A limited edition commemorative Beer Festival glass will also be available for £4.00.
Please note the Beer Festival will be based in the Grandstand Admission area so all racegoers will have the chance to taste the real ale, cider or perry.
Friday’s card features the listed Keltbray Noel Murless Stakes run over a mile and six furlongs.
PICNICS
Picnics are allowed into the Grandstand area but NOT in the Premier Enclosure area. You are allowed to bring a picnic hamper/cool bag accompanied by a bottle of wine, champagne or four cans per person.
Picnic Policy
Picnics: Customers are welcome to bring a picnic as long as it is brought to the Racecourse in a picnic hamper or cool bag/box. The picnic areas are situated on the Plaza Lawns and in the Old Paddock in the Grandstand Area.
